Hi friends! My name is Leslie Levin. I am so excited to begin my seventh year teaching at Ivy Hall with all of you! This will be my 21st year in the classroom. I have taught kindergarten through second grade.
I graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Child Development and received a Master’s degree in Education from National Louis University. Additionally, I received an endorsement in English as a Second Language.
We are going to have a fabulous year together. There is so much I am looking forward to. Some of the topics we will study in first grade are the sun, moon and stars, plants and animals, community roles, map skills, 3D shapes, telling time, and counting money. In literacy, we will read and respond to text in deep and meaningful ways and learn to write opinion, informational and narrative paragraphs. In our first grade classroom, we will engage in explicit social emotional learning and integrate SEL throughout our instruction.
